The Morris Police Department arrested a woman after a two vehicle crash that occurred at the intersection of Mission Parkway and Route 6 around 4:50 p.m. on November 23rd.
Morris Police Chief John Severson said after the accident, Stacey Dalton, 34, of Morris left the scene and drove into a business parking lot nearby. The officer allegedly noticed the smell of alcohol coming from Dalton and she also had a ten-year-old child inside the vehicle.
The Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District was called to the scene due to the airbag deployment. Dalton was arrested for Aggravated DUI, DUI, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, operating a vehicle without insurance and endangering the life or health of a child.
Dalton has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury, a class four felony; DUI as well as several other citations. She was transported to the Grundy County Jail and her bond was set at $7,500.
Dalton also has a DUI conviction from 2013 out of Grundy County.
