The City of Morris will be tearing down their portion of the old paper mill facility.
The city council on Monday approved a $583,000 bid from Alliance Demolition for the work. Morris Mayor Dick Kopczick said nine bids were submitted.
It was announced earlier this year that the city was going to demolish their portion and then address the other two privately owned sections of the paper mill. Kopczick said the long term goal of the project is to have more Habitat for Humanity homes built in that area.
Construction of the final house in the Hancock Paige Subdivision is ongoing and could be completed by the end of this year.
