A Morris man was issued several citations after he allegedly knocked over a light pole on the Interstate 80 Exit Ramp around noon on Tuesday.

According to the Morris Police Department, Shane Valentine, 30, of Morris allegedly crashed into the light pole, knocking it down. Afterwards he abandoned his vehicle and fled South on foot. When the police arrived they ran the plates of Valentine’s vehicle and went to his house to interview him.

Valentine reportedly denied being the driver of the vehicle and latter said he was just a passenger. Police then brought a witness of the incident to the station for a photo line-up. Police say the witness positively identified Valentine as the driver of the vehicle.
