A Morris man was arrested after allegedly striking several vehicles, and spitting in the face of an officer. The Morris Police Department was called to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Maple Drive and Route 47 in the early morning hours of November 26th.
Officers arrived on scene to perform a check on the vehicle at around 4:10 a.m. and upon arrival located the vehicle in a grassy area with the bumper hanging off. After an investigation, 31- year- old Aaron Johnson, the driver of the vehicle was arrested on an alleged charge of DUI, and was taken to the Morris Police Department.
A short time later, Johnson was transported to the Morris Hospital for precautionary reasons. Once released from the hospital later in the day, Johnson was arrested in the 1700 block of Parklake Drive.
During the arrest, Johnson allegedly spat in the officer’s face. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Johnson had allegedly struck several parked vehicles throughout Morris prior to his vehicle becoming disabled.
Johnson was arrested for Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer, DUI, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and improper lane usage. He was taken to the Grundy County Jail.
