The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local man on a sex offense in the 5,000 block of Peart Road in Morris on October 14th. Dustin Hendrickson, 39, of Morris was arrested for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and Being within 500 feet of a park.
Through an investigation, the Sheriff’s Department learned that Hendrickson never registered as a sex offender following his September 29th release from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Police officials say Hendrickson was required to register within three days of leaving prison. Hendrickson was sentenced to three years in prison on the charge of Criminal Sexual Abuse, a class four felony out of Grundy County in 2017.
As part of the plea deal, Hendrickson was required to register as a sex offender for ten years. In the 2017 case, the Morris Police Department said Hendrickson sexually abused a 16-year-old.
In the newest case, Hendrickson has been charged with Failing to Register as a Sex Offender, a class three felony and remains in the Grundy County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
