Morris Hospital wants to clarify incorrect information circulating on social media about the mask supply at the hospital. While there is a shortage of personal protective equipment across the country and all hospitals are conserving supplies, they want to assure you that masks are available and are being worn by Morris Hospital staff based on CDC standard and transmission-based precautions for caring for patients with confirmed or possible COVID-19.
Hospital officials say inaccurate social media posts are being made by individuals stating that masks are only being given to doctors. These statements are inaccurate. While their mask supply is stable at this time, they are accepting masks and face shields from businesses and members of the community who would like to make a donation.
At this time, they are not accepting homemade cloth masks. Donations can be dropped off at the receiving dock at the hospital, which is accessible from Lisbon Street on the west side of the hospital campus. Please follow signs to receiving, ring the buzzer at the bottom of the dock ramp, and leave the donation outside the door.
