Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is among the 33% of hospitals in the nation that received an “A” grade on the fall 2019 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade that was released on November 7. This national distinction recognizes Morris Hospital’s achievements in protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care.
Twice a year, the Leapfrog Group assigns an A, B, C, D or F grade to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harm to patients in their care.
Developed under the guidance of a national expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year. The data used to calculate the Fall Hospital Safety Grade covers a time period ranging from July 2016-September 2018, depending on the measure.
Of the 103 Illinois hospitals that were assessed on the fall report, 46 received A’s, 19 received B’s, 34 received C’s, and 4 received D’s.
