The Morris High School Board of Education on Monday heard an update from Superintendent Craig Ortiz regarding a recent safety meeting with local first responders.

Ortiz said meeting with police and fire personnel to touch base on safety is a top priority for the district.

He said one thing discussed was making sure first responders had a campus map.

Ortiz said the district will continue to follow-up and they plan to conduct emergency drills throughout the year so students are prepared.
