For the third straight meeting, Morris City Council members on Monday had people from the public speak about the upcoming legalization of recreation cannabis.

Morris resident Rick Barnard, who has also spoken at other meetings, told the council a story regarding a young female killed in an accident.

Morris resident Stephanie Schwab explained to the council how cannabis has helped with her illnesses.

During the meeting, three others members spoke, two of which were in support of cannabis. The Morris Planning Commission will recommend a motion at their meeting on October 30th.

That final motion will be voted by Morris City Council members on November 4th.
