A local non-profit organization was recently honored for their efforts at fighting hunger and helping those going through major life struggles.
The Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service (Commission) presented 21 communities with 2019 Governor’s Hometown Awards during a special reception at the Governor’s Mansion on earlier this month. Morris resident Jeff Eberhard with the Will County organization – Micro Pantries spoke to us about the honor.
Eberhard explains how a micro pantry works.
Eberhard said they currently have 63 Micro Pantries.
