An out-of-state man was sentenced out of Kendall County last week. Phongsavanh Cantharath, 56, of Las Vegas, Nevada pled guilty to unlawful delivery of methamphetamine between 15 and 100 grams, a class X felony and was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
He was given credit for serving more than 600 days in the Kendall County Jail and three other felony charges were dropped.
In May of 2019, Cantharath was arrested by the US Department of Homeland Security and Kendall County authorities for dealing meth and money laundering.
Kendall County Court records show that the incident stems back to August 31, 2017. Charges were filed on January 22, 2018 and an indictment was handed down by a grand jury that year.
