The Seneca Fire Department along with several others responded to a massive business fire at 354 West Jackson Street in Seneca around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18th.
Fire officials say a shop and business on the property of Olson’s Auto Scrap Metal Recycling was destroyed by the blaze. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was due to an electrical issue.
The business stated that there Seneca location will be closed for an undetermined time and they are working on a temporary office. The business also wanted to thank all the brave firefighters that kept the damage to just the building.
The Seneca Fire Department was assisted by Morris, Marseilles, Verona-Kinsman, Serena, Grand Ridge, Mazon, Lisbon-Seward, the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office, Grundy County Emergency Management Agency and the Seneca Police Department.
