A Marseilles man and an Ottawa man were arrested and charged with Class X felony Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance following a buy/bust operation in Ottawa on Monday.
According to officials with the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team, agents conducted a controlled purchase of cocaine from 41-year-old Dale McInerney Jr. of Fillebrowne St. and 33-year-old Ryan Knott of Columbus St. in the 3000 blk. of Fairfield Ln. at around 4:41 p.m.
During the controlled purchase, McInerney allegedly delivered around 27 grams of cocaine to agents. Officials say Knott allegedly assisted McInerney during the transaction.
An additional 23 grams of purported cocaine were allegedly located in close proximity to McInerney Jr. during the incident.
Following the delivery, McInerney and Knott were arrested and charged with Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance. They were both transported to the LaSalle County Jail for booking.
Police in Sandwich arrested McInerney for Possession of a Controlled Substance after he was allegedly found to be in possession of a little over five grams of cocaine during a traffic stop in the city on Feb. 10.
