A sexual predator was sentenced in Grundy County on Monday, January 11th. Albert Aguilar, 31, of Crest Hill pled guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a class two felony and was sentenced to five years in prison.
As part of the plea agreement, three criminal sexual assault charges were dropped. Aguilar, who has no prior criminal history, will have to serve 50 percent of the sentence, serve two years of parole once released from prison and register as a sex offender for natural life.
Morris Police Chief John Severson told WCSJ that Aguilar sexually assaulted and abused a female relative between the ages of 13 and 17 near the Rockwell Estates area in December of 2018.
