A 45-year-old Carmi, Illinois man has been sentenced to prison for violating his probation.
In September of 2017, Roy Swisher was arrested by the Coal City Police Department for domestic battery and received two years probation for that crime.
In January of 2018, Swisher was also arrested by the Coal City Police Department for battering a female family member.
For that crime, Swisher was charged with domestic battery, a class four felony and placed on 30 months probation and served 60 days in the Grundy County Jail.
However, he violated that probation a few months later. Earlier this week, Swisher was sentenced to 18 months in prison for having his probation revoked and must serve 4 years on parole once released from the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Meanwhile, Will County court records show Swisher was also arrested two separate times in 2002 for domestic battery.
