A 39-year-old Coal City man was arrested after leading authorities on a high-speed chase around 9 p.m. on November 22nd.
According to a police report released by the Coal City Police Department, an officer noticed a vehicle driven by Harold Hogan weaving in and out of lanes on Broadway Street in Coal City.
As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, Hogan failed to comply. The chase went into Diamond, then on Interstate 55 where Hogan was allegedly driving at speeds of 110 miles per hour and he eventually got off on the Reed Road exit.
After exiting the interstate, police officials say the chase continued onto Reed Road where Hogan was allegedly driving 95 miles per hour. The pursuit came to an end when Hogan tried to reverse his vehicle, but became stuck in the ditch area at the intersection of East Reed Road and South Broadway Street.
While at the Coal City Police station, the officer noticed Hogan allegedly had blood shot eyes and could not walk in a straight line. Hogan was arrested for Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding Police, DUI, driving while license revoked and issued several citations.
He was transported to the Grundy County Jail.
