A Will County teenager accused of stabbing another individual was arrested this past weekend.

Jeremy Krizmanic, 19, of Wilmington allegedly hit a man in the head with a plate before stabbing the same person in the leg area with a pair of scissors at an apartment the 600 block of Meadowood Avenue in Wilmington on February 19th.

The Wilmington Police Department said the victim was at the apartment to help a friend remove some personal belongings. Other witnesses on the scene confirmed the victim’s account of what had happened.   

While in the police station processing room, Krizmani became violent towards officers, refusing to be handcuffed for transport to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

During the struggle Krizmanic was attempting to remove items from one of the officer’s duty belt and eventually got a hold of a loaded magazine. During the struggle, Krizmanic damaged two of the officer’s uniforms as well as some lockers in the processing area.

Krizmanic was charged with Aggravated Battery/Great Bodily Harm, and Battery/Causing Great Bodily Harm. Additional charges are pending. The victim was transported to Riverside Hospital and Krizmanic remains free on a $7,500 bond.
