A Grundy County grand jury indicted a Coal City man on January 8th. David Peterson was charged with two counts of Aggravated DUI with two previous convictions, both class two felonies.
The 34-year-old was arrested by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department on two counts of DUI and driving while license revoked after a traffic stop was conducted in the 100 block of East Illinois Avenue around 11 a.m. on November 25th.
The traffic stop came after police officials said they received a driving complaint of a person allegedly driving a lawn tractor on the roadway that same day. The indictment alleges Peterson was driving a yellow/white Cub Cadet tractor/mower in the Gun Club Road/Illinois Avenue area on November 25th.
According to police, Peterson’s blood alcohol concentration level was .20. After getting arrested, he posted a $300 bond and was released. Grundy County court records show Peterson was convicted of DUI in 2004 and again in 2018. He was placed on two years of court supervision for the first DUI and two years of conditional discharge in the 2018 DUI case.
