An out-of-state man was sentenced for dealing cannabis in Will County. Michael Silliman, 65, of Huntington Beach, California pled guilty to a new charge of manufacturing and delivering between 2,000 and 5,000 gram of cannabis, a class one felony and was sentenced to 918 days in the Will County Jail.

He also received three years probation and was given credit for serving 459 days in the Will County Jail. As part of the plea agreement, a class X felony charge was dropped and Silliman must pay more than $23,000 in fines and fees.

Silliman was pulled over by the Will County Sheriff’s Office for not having his headlights on when it was raining on Interstate 80 near Joliet in November of 2019. While speaking with Silliman, probable cause to search the vehicle was determined and performed.

Officers found 190 pounds of cannabis, one THC Vape pen and six grams of methamphetamine. Police officials say the seized cannabis had a street value of about $600,000.
