The Channahon Village Board met in regular session this week and took action on several items.
Mike Petrick, director of community development for the village, informed trustees that the owners of the former Lone Star Restaurant, which burned down in October of 2015, are planning on building a new restaurant on the same piece of property at 25208 Route 6.
Petrick said Themis Sparagis will submit plans to the Channahon Planning and Zoning Commission on Monday, June 10 at 6 p.m. in an open meeting at the village hall.
If approved, the plan could then go before the village board for approval.
Trustees also approved a contract with Alpha Paintworks to paint approximately one thousand fire hydrants this summer at a cost of $110 per hydrant.
Finally, the village board approved the purchase of a 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe at a cost of $25,000 for the village’s building inspector.
