One person was injured after a semi-truck accident that occurred on Interstate 55 southbound lanes around five last night.
Police officials say a loaded semi tractor trailer left the roadway, traveled down the embankment and ultimately came to rest on South Broadway Road on its side.
The driver was found walking around and transported to Morris hospital with minor injuries. The Braceville Fire Protection District said the truck sustained severe damage and leaked a large amount of diesel fuel into the ditch.
Firefighters were able to mitigate the spill with guidance from the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency and Gardner Fire Protection District.
The accident remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police.
