A Livingston County woman was sentenced on a drug dealing charge this week. The Dwight Narcotics Unit and Livingston County Proactive Unit arrested 32-year-old Cornelius Young and his girlfriend 33-year-old Stephanie Larson, both of Pontiac, after a search warrant was conducted at a house in Pontiac in September of 2018.
Young and Larson made controlled buys of cannabis and ecstasy from the residence. During the search, over 5000 grams of cannabis, 60 ecstasy pills, and one handgun was recovered.
Young pled guilty to dealing between 15 and 200 ecstasy pills, a class X felony; unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and dealing between 500 and 2000 grams of cannabis, both class two felonies.
He was sentenced to 16 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Meanwhile, Larson pled guilty to manufacturing and delivering between 500 and 2000 grams of cannabis, a class two felony and was sentenced to two years of probation.
As part of the plea agreement for Larson, a class X felony charge was dropped. The investigation was conducted by the Livingston County Sheriff's Department, Dwight Police Department, Pontiac Police Department and Livingston County State's Attorney's Office.
