Congressman Adam Kinzinger announced on Thursday some big fundraising numbers for both his reelection campaign and his Country First organization. Kinzinger has raised $1.1-million in his reelection bid for the 16th Congressional District and another $1.1-million for his political action committee.

A news release from Kinzinger's campaign says the Country First Donations include over 10,000 small donations from all fifty states with an average donation of $46.

Kinzinger also says his campaign fundraising has significantly outpaced previous election cycles.

Kinzinger has faced criticism for decision to vote to impeach former President Donald Trump for his role in the January 6th Capitol Riot. Several local Republican organizations censured Kinzinger over the vote and several primary candidates have emerged to challenge Kinzinger in 2022.

Kinzinger says the big fundraising numbers have shown that he still has support and that he is not in political jeopardy. Kinzinger's Country First PAC has contributed to several candidates in various states.
