Kendall County Sheriff's Office officials are warning residents of another scam.
Sheriff's deputies responded Monday to take a report from a victim who was contacted by an auto-dialer from (331) 240-1294, stating in summary that a "hit" had been placed on them for $30,000, not to contact the police, and to call back as soon as possible.
Officials say the recording states that should the victim want to have the "hit" removed - they could do so by sending $10,000.
Officials said in their post to not send any money and to feel free to contact the Sheriff's Office non-emergency number at (630) 553-5856 to have a deputy respond to an incident.
