Illinois State Police District 5 released enforcement figures for the month of August.
According to Illinois State Police District 5 Commander Captain David Schneider, troopers in District 5 – which includes Grundy, Kendall, and Will counties – answered 815 calls for service and initiated 2,769 incidents in the field during the month.
In addition, enforcement figures totaled 2,291 citations and 1,222 written warnings. Those include 1,395 speeding citations, 40 DUIs, 101 seatbelt citations, 73 distracted driving citations, 248 written warnings for speeding and 32 criminal arrests.
Troopers also assisted 370 motorists, conducted 440 motor carrier inspections and investigated 306 traffic crashes.
Schneider said there were 3 fatal traffic crashes resulting in 3 fatalities in the month of August.
