Coronavirus updates: Barron Trump also tested positive for COVID, Melania says

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,015 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday which is the highest one-day total for new cases. The state did announce over 5,000 cases one day in early September, but that was a result of some data problems and was a combination of numbers from several days.
There were also 53 new COVID-19 deaths reported. State totals are now at 331,620 cases and 9,127 deaths. There was one new death reported in Kendall County, two in Kane County, and four in Will County. Total deaths in Kendall County are now at 28.
Illinois' test positivity rate is at 4.9 percent.
