Grundy Three Rivers Habitat for Humanity’s Radio-A-Thon returns to WCSJ on Thursday.

The third annual Radio-A-Thon benefits Habitat in their pursuit of building and selling homes to families who work or live in Grundy County.

Habitat allows families access to affordable housing, providing a no-interest mortgage to help families build equity and improve credit.

On June 6 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Habitat will team up with WCSJ to provide information on Habitat programs in Grundy County, share stories from Habitat families, volunteers, and community leaders as well as have opportunities for listeners to donate to Habitat’s 14th home.

The Radio-A-Thon will conclude with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the future home site in the Hancock-Page subdivision at 4:30 p.m. at 906 E. North Street in Morris.

In addition to raising funds on-air, Habitat will have a donation table at Walmart in Morris from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Last year’s event raised over $12,000 for A Brush With Kindness, a program that helps low-income families make outdoor repairs; and Aging In Place, which assists elderly residents in basic home repairs and safety modifications.

Funds from this year’s Radio-A-Thon will go to the newest Habitat home.
