The Grundy County Emergency Management Agency released weather figures for the month of August.
Grundy County EMA Director Joe Schroeder said the highest daily temperature came on August 19 when it reached 91 degrees. Five days later, the lowest daily temperature was recorded on August 24 when it dropped to 54 degrees.
The average monthly temperature, according to a monthly data summary report provided by emergency management officials, was 73 degrees. There was only one day during the month of August when the temperature reached over 90 degrees. The total liquid precipitation for the month was 2.87 inches, bringing the total for 2019 to 35.9 inches.
Schroeder reported 10 days with measurable rain, and the speed of peak wind gust for the month fell on August 29 with winds reaching 31 miles per hour.
