The Grundy County Jail could see camera upgrades in the future.

The Grundy County Law and Justice Committee last week heard from Grundy County Sheriff Ken Briley and Deputy Chief Eric Werden as they showed a video of a recent jail incident.

Werden said the jail has 43 cameras and five are currently not working.

The committee asked Briley if there are any funding options available.

Werden said it could cost around $100,000 to upgrade the camera system, which that topic could be discussed by the committee in the future.
