The Grundy County Emergency Management Agency is looking for new Deputy Director.
Grundy County EMA Director Joe Schroeder said Office Coordinator Mary Poundstone retired at the end of January. Schroeder said he has chosen not to fill that Office Coordinator position at this time and leave it open.
He did create an Emergency Management Specialist position that will fill some operational voids they currently have within the department. The Grundy County Law and Justice/EMA committee on Thursday heard an update from Schroeder regarding the specialist position.
Schroeder said with Pettinelli taking over the specialist position; he is expecting a more efficient operational approach in EOC Operations, Field Response, All-Hazards Planning, Nuclear Planning and day to day operations.
This position will serve as third in succession for their agency. Pettinelli was hired as Deputy Director in August of 2018.
