More than 20 taxing bodies in Grundy County will receive money. The Grundy County Tax committee yesterday approved declaring a surplus in property taxes received for the Economic Development Project Area #1.
Nancy Norton with the Grundy Economic Development Council said $2.4 million was collected in the EDPA 1 last year.
She said the remaining 25% will be kept for future projects and potential expenses. Minooka School District 201 will receive $404,000, Minooka High School District 111 around $305,000 and Minooka Fire Department roughly $107,000 while 21 other taxing bodies will split the remaining amount. Meanwhile, the committee also approved rebate agreements to Utility Concrete and Airgas as Norton explains.
Airgas will receive $812,000 and Utility Concrete $15,000.
