Grundy County Tax Photo 

The Grundy County Tax committee this week approved declaring a surplus in property taxes received for the Economic Development Project Area #1.

Nancy Norton with the Grundy Economic Development Council said the EDPA is a place to help draw businesses to an area.

Tax Committee Chairman Mike Onorato had this to say during the meeting.

The total amount in the EDPA 1 was $4.14 million. The county said $2.4 million was declared surplus.

Out of the $2.4 million,Minooka School District 201 will receive $915,000, Minooka High School $672,000, Minooka Fire District $232,000 and the village of Minooka $198,000. 

The board also approved an Airgas Rebate in the amount of $782,268 and for Kellogg (New Building) in the $732,727.
