Police officials in Grundy County want to remind the public not to drink and drive during the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
In the past week, at least ten people have been arrested in Grundy County for DUI. Grundy County Coroner John Callahan was recently in our studios.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, 15 motor vehicle crash fatalities occurred in Illinois over the 2018 Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Five of the 15 deaths occurred in crashes involving at least one driver who had been drinking. The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, Illinois State Police and others will continue to be out in full force enforcing DUI’s.
Meanwhile, Callahan also had this to reminder about the upcoming winter season.
For the upcoming winter season, the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency said you should have an emergency kit in your car. The kit should include three days of food and water, cell phone charger, shovel, important documents and several other items.
