A surplus in property taxes for the Economic Development Project Area #1 was declared by the Grundy County Tax Committee last week.

Nancy Norton with the Grundy Economic Development Council said the EDPA is a place to help draw businesses to an area.

Tax Committee Chairman Mike Onorato explains how much taxes were collected.

The committee also heard an update from County Administrator George Gray.

Norton said $2.4 million was collected in 2017.

The Grundy County Board will take action on the surplus at a future meeting.
