Grundy County Board members approved the Highway Department’s Five Year Bridge and Construction Plan at their meeting on February 9th.
Highway Engineer Eric Gibson said the costliest project in 2021 is the continuation of widening Ridge Road through Minooka, which is around $17 million.
Other projects this year includes replacing the Grand Ridge Road Bridge at $800,000 and Tabler Road Bridge over the I&M Canal at $700,000.
The construction of the DuPont Road Bridge over Waupecan Creek will cost $850,000 and the Gardner Road Bridge estimated around $700,000 are two of the higher projects for fiscal year 2022.
The total costs for the projects in fiscal year 2023 is $3.2 million, fiscal year 2024 is estimated to be around $3.9 million and $6.4 million in construction is slated for fiscal year 2025.
