The Grundy County Board last week approved two collective bargaining agreements with Teamsters Local 700.

Grundy County HR Director Mary Kucharz said the agreements pertain to employees within the Sheriff’s Office.

She spoke about the pay increases in the Sergeants agreement.

Kurcharz also outlined another important aspect of the Sergeants agreement.

The deputies and correctional officers will also be getting pay increases and the choice of health insurance.

Sheriff Ken Briley told WCSJ there are eight sergeants, 25 deputies, and 13 correctional officers on his staff. Grundy County Board Chairman Chris Balkema wanted to thank Briley and others involved for making it a smooth process. Last time, the two collective bargaining agreements went through an arbitration process.
