The Gardner Village Board met in regular session Monday evening, opening their regular business with a recognition of Village Treasurer Sheryl McDaniel. McDaniel is retiring from the village after serving for over 25 years.
The board gave final approval to the all-town cleanup to be held on November 2. The board originally considered November 9 but moved the date away from the recycling day on the 9th.
Mayor Mike Serena reported the donated Micro Pantry will be installed at the Gardner Fire Department, after receiving approval from the Fire Protection District. Village engineer Casey McCollom advised the board the foundation work is expected to begin for the new water tower before the end of October.
Mayor Mike Serena asked for motions to remove Planning/Zoning Officer & Building Inspector Dean Rankovich and appoint Dan Babcock to fill the position. Mayor Mike Serena commented the appointments and removals are made at the Mayor’s discretion.
