Commissioner Dick Hileman reported on the movement of funds to pay for the water tower and related improvements at the Gardner Village Board on Monday.
Commissioner Erik Smith commented he had been driving through the village and feels the streets are in good condition. He stated he would like to address sidewalks as a future project.
Mayor Mike Serena suggested repairs to Washington Street between 53 and the rail road tracks, the street near the Gardner Garage, and Jackson Street near route 53. Commissioner Hileman inquired on cost and timing to allow him to adjust CD’s accordingly.
Village Engineer Casey McCollom commented there may be grant funding available such as Safe Routes to Schools. Mayor Serena reminded residents Trick or Treat hours will be October 31 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Mayor Mike Serena presented door hangers to allow residents to indicate they are not participating in Trick or Treat.
The postings will be available free of charge at the village hall. Serena stressed residents wear masks and follow social distancing as much as possible. Any changes will be broadcast on WCSJ Radio, 103.1 FM.
