The Gardner Village Board had discussions about repairing certain streets at their meeting on Monday.

Commissioner Erik Smith asked about the hole on the southwest corner of the intersection of Carbon Hill Road and the Union Pacific Railroad Crossing. Smith also noted Carbon Hill and IL-129 and the intersection of Main and Jackson.

Mayor Mike Serena suggested paving areas between streets and sidewalks on intersections with improved alleys. Serena would like to develop a list as soon as possible to allow for bids before spring. Smith also suggested looking at areas requiring sidewalk repair.

Smith also said he received some comments concerning ice on the downtown parking lot. Serena noted the lot was already occupied with vehicles during the freezing rain but was cleared and salted the following morning.
