We Care of Grundy County and the Morris Hospital Foundation are teaming up to offer a free program for caretakers.
We Care and Morris Hospital Foundation, in addition to NAMI – or National Alliance on Mental Illness – are collaborating on a free 12-week program called Family-to-Family on Tuesday, August 27 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the We Care multipurpose room located at 530 Bedford Road in Morris.
The program is for caretakers of a loved one who has a mental illness and is taught by NAMI-trained instructors who have been there and understand what caretakers go through.
The group setting of NAMI Family-to-Family provides mutual support and shared positive impact while helping families experience compassion and reinforcement from people who understand these unique situations.
Fisher was on WCSJ’s People Are Talking this week and detailed what the program hopes to do.
Childcare and meals will be provided during the program. To register, call 815-942-6389.
