Another Covid-19 related death has been reported in Grundy County. That’s according to the Illinois Department of Public Health as they made the announcement on Wednesday, June 24th. IDPH reports the person was a female in her 80’s as this is the fourth person to die from Covid-19 in Grundy County.

The Grundy County Health Department said the three previous deaths: a male in his 70’s and two males in their 90’s all had underlying health conditions. It is unknown if the female in her 80’s had underlying health conditions.

Health Director Michelle Pruim said 149 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Grundy County. Of those, 81 are female and 68 are male. The first case was identified on March 23rd and since then 128 people have recovered. The Grundy County Health Department said 1,582 people have been tested for Covid-19 in Grundy County and 1433 test were negative.
