The Morris Police Department responded to a four vehicle accident that occurred at Green Acres Drive and Route 47 around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th.

The Morris Police Department said a witness stated that a vehicle driven by Michael Galle, 55, of St. Charles struck a parked vehicle on Route 47 near the Morris Airport and then veered into the ditch.

The witness stated that Galle’s vehicle came out of the ditch and started swerving all over the road heading southbound to Morris. A few minutes later, the witness stated he saw an accident involving Galle’s vehicle and three others that had occurred at Green Acres Drive and Route 47.

Police officials say Galle’s vehicle hit a vehicle driven by a Mazon man which led to his vehicle striking a red expedition driven by a Morris male. Police officials say Galle’s vehicle also rear-ended a vehicle driven by an individual from South Wilmington.

The Morris Police Department said they spoke with Galle at Morris Hospital as he told them he was at in business in Yorkville. Galle told the officer that he took a pill to help his insulin level. He also stated he remembers getting into his vehicle and then being woken up in the ambulance.

The Morris Police Department said an officer spoke with a paramedic who stated Galle’s blood sugar level was 26. Everyone involved in the accident refused medical treatment.
