The Coal City School Board on Wednesday approved the appointment of a new board member.
Superintendent Kent Bugg said after serving nearly 12 years on the Board of Education, Jeff Emerson resigned his seat at the Board’s November 4 meeting.
Bugg explained why Engelhardt was appointed.
Bugg said incumbent board members Mary Gill and Shawn Hamilton along with candidates Steve Rogers, Adam Brncich and Dan Engelhardt will be battling it out in the April Consolidated Election. Only three of those members will be elected.
