The Grundy County Health Department (GCHD) announces a fifth positive case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Grundy County, IL. This resident is a male in his 50's. Public health officials are identifying and working with all close contacts.
Federal privacy restrictions prohibit the release of any additional information. COVID-19 is now considered wide spread in the community, and health care systems are not designed to withstand the impact of a pandemic outbreak.
It is extremely important that everyone contribute to the solution and help to slow down the transmission of the virus. Governor J.B. Pritzker has issued a stay at home order, which is now effective through April 30, 2020.
