A family of six was rescued from the DuPage River around 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 28th.
The Channahon Fire Department said the family became distressed on the DuPage River between the Shepley Road Bridge and Troy Sportsman Club.
Their rafts became deflated and they were able to find protection on a nearby tree in the water until rescuers could arrive. Some of the individuals were found with personal flotation devices and others were not.
Three boats were used to extract all six individuals to the sportsman club area. Ambulances were standing by to evaluate the family. No injuries were sustained and all refused medical transport.
