Flooding could be a big problem this week with temperatures warming up in our listening area.
Weather officials say temperatures will be in the upper 30’s possibly lower 40’s through Thursday.
The Grundy County Emergency Management Agency released a few tasks that might reduce your chances or reduce the amount of water from snow melt into your home: If you are able, clear storm drains and sump pump discharge of snow, ice or any remaining fall leaves.
They also said clear the area around your down spouts and gutter discharge, ensuring flowing water has a place to go.
In addition, check your sump pump, to ensure it is operational. If you are unable, you can contact a qualified professional.
First repsonders are also reminding motorists not to cross flooded roadways.
