The U.S. EPA and Superior Battery in Morris have reached an Administrative Settlement Agreement and an Order on Consent to start the cleanup process from the lithium battery fire that started in late June.
Morris Fire Chief Tracey Steffes explains what is next in the process.
He said the weather in the upcoming months will play a factor in the cleanup process.
He said all safety precautions will be in place.
More than 3000 people evacuated their homes due to the battery fire that occurred in late June. No injuries were reported and the fire still remains under investigation.
