Morris Grade School graduates were recently honored at a special recognition ceremony on Thursday evening, July 30th, 2020, at the Goold Park Bandshell.
This ceremony was the first in the districts’ history to occur at an outdoor location due to the current pandemic regulations and safety concerns.
It has been the goal of the District to find a safe way to honor and recognize the great accomplishments of the 8th grade class. The graduates were individually called to walk across the stage and receive their diplomas while guests looked on.
Guests were limited to parents and siblings and were required to follow social distancing guidelines.
“We’re proud of our graduates and the determination they showed this school year, and they deserved an opportunity to be publicly recognized for their hard work and dedication they exhibited as they finished their junior high careers”, said Superintendent, Dr. Shannon Dudek.
District #54 would like to thank the City of Morris and everyone else involved for helping to provide a positive, exciting, and memorable graduate recognition ceremony for all their students and families.
