A Morris man serving an eight-year prison sentence will remain behind bars. In November of 2015, WCSJ reported that 49-year-old Kenton Pellegrini was sentenced to eight years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Grundy County Judge Robert Marsaglia.
Pellegrini was found guilty during a bench trial on the charges of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, a class X felony, Criminal Sexual Assault, a class one felony and Aggravated Battery, a class three felony.
Grundy County prosecutors say the Illinois Supreme Court announced last week that it would not accept an appeal in the case.
Pellegrini remains incarcerated at the Taylorville Correctional Center and is set to be released in August of 2022.
Once released, Pellegrini will have to register as a sex offender for life.
