The Community Foundation of Grundy County has reactivated the Grundy County Disaster Fund and is seeking donations from the public. The emergency fund has not been active since the Coal City tornado in 2015. Executive Director Julie Buck said the proceeds will primarily go towards financing non-profits that support those most vulnerable to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Buck also said that in a normal emergency they would be seeking volunteers, but for this crisis they will need financial support and help spreading accurate information.
